Why Sugaring over Waxing?
Sugar is made from cleaner more simple ingredients just lemon juice, sugar and water. It only adheres to hair and dead skin cells, unlike wax which removes that first layer of live skin cells leaving you with that raw feeling nobody wants. Best for all skin types even sensitive skin. How long does my hair need to be to get sugared?
Lucky for you; not as long as you think, about the size of a grain of rice or about 2 weeks after your last shave. If you’re worried your hair is too long don’t trim it come as you are.
Is this going to hurt?
Don’t be worried, Sugaring is very gentle and specifically designed for sensitive skin. I promise you will be just fine, you’re getting Sugared by the best and i’m here to make you as comfortable as possible! Clients most common comment after sugaring is “That was way easier than I was anticipating”.
Taking anti-inflammatory medications such as Advil or Tylenol approximately 45 minutes prior to your appointment will help ease the discomfort.
How can I prepare for my Sugaring appointment?
Stop shaving at least two weeks before your appointment. Don’t worry if you think your hair is too long just come as you are. Stop exfoliating 48 hours prior to your appointment. (Too much exfoliation can lead to redness and irritation). Come freshly showered and skip the lotion day of your appointment.
Aftercare!
Keep yourself hydrated! Avoid exfoliating the sugared area for at least 72 hours, even if exfoliation is part of your normal routine. After that we suggest exfoliating every day in the shower. By doing this, dead skin and oils are removed from the surface of the skin so the hair is able to grow back evenly with minimal irritation. Avoid excessive sweating like exercise, hot tubs, saunas, or pools for 24-48 hours after your service. Since your pores and therefore hair follicles are open they may become clogged, irritated, or even infected. Avoid any kind of friction to the area. Yes, this includes sex! And please no shaving in-between appointments, shaving disrupts the hair growth and will make your next sugar more uncomfortable.
Can I Sugar on my period?
No worries! Menstruation is normal! I am absolutely fine sugaring while you’re on your period, I just ask that you have a tampon or menstrual cup in for sanitary reasons. There is a chance you will be extra sensitive on your period though so if you would rather reschedule just let me know as soon as you can!
How long will it take for my hair to grow back?
Its going to take about 2 weeks for that hair to start to grow back. We say get your next sugar 4-6 weeks after your last service. Most people hardly know when it starts too grow back because it’s so easy compared to how uncomfortable hair grows back after shaving. No itching or prickly hair, the hair grows back thinner and softer than before.
Appointment Cancellation Policy
I hold your appointment time just for you! To avoid being charged 100% of your scheduled service fee, I require leaving a message by phone or text a full 24 hours prior to your appointment. This ensures that I have the chance to rebook for your time slot. Unfortunately I am unable to accept same day cancellations or changes except if you are moving to a different time slot within the same day of your scheduled appointment. Thank You!
Late Policy
Please be on time! If you are more than 15 minutes late to any appointment It will be considered a no show and you will charged 100% of your service/’s. I understand things happen. If you are going to be late, please let me know so it can be accounted for if changes are needed. Thank You!
